Is it possible to honor the Imam’s Legacy while rejecting Islamic principles to solving our problems?

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE DIVORCED EX-WIFE OF IMAM W.D. MOHAMMED AND HER CHILDREN REALLY WANT THE IMAM’S LEGACY TO BE RESPECTED AND HONORED WHILE AT THE SAME TIME INSIST ON REJECTING ISLAMIC PRINCIPLES IN BUILDING OUR COMMUNITY AND SOLVING OUR PROBLEMS

Dear Muslims, brothers, sister’s respecters, supporters and friends of Imam W. D. Mohammed, for nearly 4 months I have accepted a self imposed moratorium on writing any articles directly challenging the vicious un-Islamic behavior of Laila, N’gina, Wallace and Shirley Mohammed. My reason was based on the sincere appeals from the many Muslims across the country that felt this matter–which involved the criminal locking out of Imam Mohammed’s wife Khadijah Siddeeq Mohammed from her home and denying her the rightful respectful position of a wife in the burial of her husband, living in her home after his death and the out right stealing of monies, properties condolences, invitations and correspondences designated for Khadijah as the widowed wife of Imam Mohammed by Shirley, Wallace, Laila and N’gina Mohammed–needed to be resolved. I received phone calls, letters, emails and personal appeals to sit down with the Mohammed family and talk to them and try to reach an equitable settlement. My local Imam, Michael Saahir, after returning from Rome appealed to me stating that he had sat and talked with Laila while being in Rome and that she had assured him that she was seriously willing to come together with me and work out a solution to this matter.

Considering that I am a Muslim and these family member who caused all of this criminal and un-Islamic behavior, are also Muslims I felt compelled to accept them at their word as was being told to me and give peace a chance. I immediately sat down and drew up a treaty of sort and asked Imam Saahir to personally deliver it to Laila Mohammed and to let her know that if there existed anything in this agreement that they differed with we could sit down and make changes or adjustments as long as said changes did not destroy the fundamental basic nature and focus of the agreement. Imam Saahir studiously delivered the agreement to Laila and proceeded to attempt to make contact with Laila as well as her brother, Wallace after the period of time had expired by which some decision was to be made as to the acceptance or rejection of the agreement. Despite his persistent effort to contact both Laila and Wallace he could not get any response from either of them until the weekend of December 6, while at the Ephraim Bahar Cultural Center when he went to Chicago for the Midwest Region “Conversation” meeting. At that time Laila said she was not interested in signing any agreement. But she did begin another discussion about how the two families could get together. Still nothing has happened in this period of time that has gone long past the point by which the agreement suggested said agreement should be complete to bring the two families together. Again despite the fact that it was clearly conveyed to Laila that nothing in the agreement was set in stone–(except the fact that the Qur’an was to be the standard and Islam the process) and any changes that they wanted to make they were free to make by just sitting down with myself and coordinating this effort–Laila in the name of her family still out right rejected this agreement and sincere effort to solve this ugly matter that they created and gave birth to.

So now we are on the heels of another major program that Wallace II wants to involve the community in (Saviors Day) under the guise of maintaining the goals of his father. What Wallace fails to understand is that we can name all of these programs after the popular and traditional programs that Imam Mohammed gave to us but if we do not capture the spirit and honor of his father we have missed out on keeping the true legacy of Imam W.D.Mohammed Alive. We merely are going through meaningless and empty rituals that lack the soul and spirit of Imam Mohammed. Why? Because you can’t have an Islamic program without Islam (peace and willful submission to the will of G-d) and you can’t have Islam while intentionally trampling on the rights and dignity of innocent people. You can’t have Islam if you insist on robbing and ravaging the innocent of what they are rightfully and justly due in property and respect. You can’t have Islam if you selfishly turn your back on an opportunity to equitably and justly solve a problem that you have created and effects literally many thousands of people. The same attitude that we are witnessing being shown to the Palestinians we are witnessing being displayed by the Mohammed family in their attempt to manipulate this community like it is their personal little fiefdom.

Since my last posting of an article on this site a group of brothers and sisters have made a major effort to support Khadijah Siddeeq, the rightful wife of Imam W. D. Mohammed by inviting her around the country to speak and by posting a statement in the Muslim Journal stating that they support Khadijah Siddeeq, the wife of Imam Mohammed. The editor of the Muslim Journal just flatly refused to print any statement of support for Khadijah, the wife of Imam Mohammed so some very dedicated Muslim brothers and sisters put up money and purchased space to have such information printed in the Muslim Journal. In the Journal there are literally dozens of ads but do you see any notice at the bottom of these ads stating “PAID ADVERTISEMENT”? NO! Then why does the ad supporting Khadijah Siddeeq have “PAID ADVERTISEMENT” at the bottom of its ad? Perhaps we should ask the Director of Advertisement, N’gina Muhammad, the daughter of Shirley Muhammad and Sister of Laila Muhammad, maybe she can answer that question.

This is not the only situation that these spoiled and unprincipled people showed their disdain for what is right by using their positions of power and authority to carry out their petty vindictive agendas on anyone who would dare act without first consulting them. Take for instance the upcoming Saviors day that was scheduled and advertised to take place on Saturday, February 28th at Cobo Hall in Detroit Michigan. When they (Wallace Mohammed’s team putting on the Saviors day event) learned that the young students of Imam W. D. Mohammed felt that some one should hold Jumuah prayer on the Friday before the Saturday program and took it upon themselves to host Jumuah Prayer guess how these so called leaders responded? Upon learning about the Jumuah Prayer they then put out a brochure emphasizing that the Saviors day program was “ONE DAY ONLY”. Now this is the mentality of those who claim to be upholding the tradition of Imam Mohammed. To make a concerted effort to keep Muslims from supporting the young students of Imam Mohammed’s Jumuah Prayer effort is the lowest thing anyone could think of nevertheless do.

So, when the Muslims ask me, Brother Siddeeq why don’t you sit down with Laila, out of the public eye, and solve these problems, read the enclosed document and write and tell me what more could I do to try and solve this problem? Remember I have been waiting for nearly 4 months to get back a single word from Laila, Wallace, N’gina and Shirley and I have not got anything but an indirect message that Laila said “I’m not going to agree to any pre-conditions on anything”, despite the fact that we clearly stated that anything that she desired to change we could do so as long as we did not change the Qur’anic and Islamic goal and focus of the agreement.

PROPOSED TIME TABLE
THE HEAD OF EACH FAMILY OPENLY, VERBALLY ACCEPT THIS TREATY EFFORT IN PRINCIPLE ON BEHALF OF HIS/HER FAMILY BY CALLING THE MUSLIM JOURNAL AND THE OTHER FAMILY HEAD AND STATING SUCH. THIS SHOULD BE DONE ON OR BY NOVEMBER 7, 2008, AND BEGIN WORKING TO BRING ALL FAMILY MEMBERS ON BOARD AND IN ACCORD WITH THE AGREEMENT.

SIDDEEQ INITIATES SELF IMPOSED MORATORIUM ON PUBLISHING ANY NEW BLOGS THAT PREVIOUSLY HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED TO ATTEMPT TO RIGHT ALL PERCEIVED WRONGS EMANATING FROM THE ALLEGED INJUSTICES COMMENCING WITH THE DEATH OF IMAM W. D. MOHAMMED. ALL SUCH ISSUES WILL BE TURNED OVER TO AND ENTRUSTED TO THE ISLAMIC SHURAH FOR THEIR CONSIDERATION AND BINDING FINAL JUDGMENT.

HAVE ALL MEMBERS OF OUR PARTICULAR FAMILIES SIGN AND NOTARIZE THEIR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS “TREATY” BY DEC, 7, 2008 THE DAY THE PILGRIMS ARE ON MT ARAFAT.

PUBLISH THIS AGREEMENT AND CELEBRATE THE VICTORY OF OUR UNITY ON DEC 8, 2008 THE DAY OF EID AL ADHA

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THIS: ALL EXISTING BLOGS, RELEASES AND INFORMATION AS IT RELATES TO ANY PROBLEMS IN THE PAST WILL IMMEDIATELY BE REMOVED FROM ANY AND ALL WEBSITES CONTROLLED BY SIDDEEQ FAMILY. ALL LEGAL ACTIONS IN PROCESS IN THE COURTS BE PUT ON HOLD UNTIL SHURAH IS CONVENED THEN TURNED OVER TO CONVENER OF SHURAH.

I MUHAMMAD SIDDEEQ HAVE BEEN CRITICIZED BY MANY NAÏVE SINCERE AND INNOCENT BELIEVERS AND MEMBERS OF THIS COMMUNITY STATING THAT I DO NOT WANT TO BRING CLOSURE TO THE MATTERS T HAT I HAVE ADDRESSED CONCERNING THE UNJUST TREATMENT OF THE WIFE OF IMAM W. D. MOHAMMED AND ALL THAT PROCEEDED FORTH FROM THAT SITUATION.

I HAVE BEEN TOLD OF THE SINCERITY OF LAILA MOHAMMED AND HOW SHE SINCERELY WANTS TO BRING THIS MATTER TO AN END AND THAT WE JUST MOVE FORWARD AS BROTHERS AND SISTERS ADVANCING THE PROGRAMS LEFT BEFORE US FROM HER FATHER, THE LATE IMAM W. D. MOHAMMED.

I ACCEPT THE ADVICE OF THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE APPEALED TO ME TO TAKE THIS MATTER OUT OF THE PUBLIC AND SIT DOWN AND TALK TO ONE ANOTHER.

CONSIDERING, I HAVE BEEN ASSURED THAT LAILA MOHAMMED IS AN HONEST BROKER AND SINCERELY WANTS TO SIT DOWN, DISCUSS AND RESOLVE THESE MATTERS IN PRIVATE I AM OBLIGED TO ACCEPT HER WORD AND HOPEFULLY SHE WILL ACCEPT THE GUIDANCE FOUND IN THE QUR’AN AS OUR MODEL TO FOLLOW, SO THAT WE CAN GET STARTED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND IN THE RIGHT SPIRIT TO RESOLVE ALL OUTSTANDING EXISTING ISSUES THAT HAVE KEPT US APART AND THREATENED TO HINDER THE PROGRESS OF THIS COMMUNITY.

NEITHER I NOR ANY MUSLIM CAN MOVE ON HIS OR HER OWN UNDERSTANDING AND THIS IS WHAT IMAM MOHAMMED TOLD US WAS MEANT BY “EATING FROM THE FORBIDDEN TREE”, HE WENT ON AND TOLD US THAT TO BE A TRUE MUSLIM WE HAD TO DO AS HE HAS DONE AND ACCEPT THE WORD OF THE QUR’AN AS THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY IN OUR LIFE. SO, CONSIDERING THAT OUR COMMON REALITY IS THAT WE ARE ALL MUSLIMS WHO LOVE ALLAH AND BELIEVE IN THE HOLY QUR’AN, THEN LET’S PUT ALL OF OUR FAITH AND TRUST IN THE BOOK THAT WE ALL SAY THAT WE BELIEVE IN TO RESOLVE ALL AND ANY OF OUR DIFFERENCES.

IN TURNING TO OUR HOLY BOOK IT HAS CLEARLY LAID OUT A PROCESS THAT WE WHO ARE MUSLIMS SHOULD BE, ANXIOUS AND WILLING TO FOLLOW WHEN WE FIND OURSELVES IN A DILEMMA SUCH AS WE HAVE WITNESSED. IF ALL ARE IN AGREEMENT AND WILLING TO ALLOW OUR QUR’AN TO BE THE FINAL ARBITER AND ACCEPT THAT THE PROBLEMS TO BE RESOLVED WILL BE DONE SO IN ACCORD WITH THE QUR’AN THEN THIS IS OUR (KHADIJAH AND I) ONLY CRITERIA AND PREREQUISITE FOR SITTING DOWN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS THAT HAVE ARISEN.

EXCERPTS FROM THE FOLLOWING AYAT TAKEN FROM THE HOLY QUR’AN GIVES US A POINT OF REFERENCE BY WHICH WE CAN BEGIN OUR QUEST FOR ISLAMIC JUSTICE FOR ALL AND ANY BELIEVER WHO SINCERELY BELIEVES IN ALLAH, TRUST THE QUR’AN AND DESIRES TO SOLVE ALL AND ANY PROBLEM THAT THREATENS TO COME BETWEEN SINCERE MUSLIMS.

HOLY QUR’AN: 2:282

“O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing Let a scribe write down faithfully as between the parties: let not the scribe refuse to write: as Allah Has taught him, so let him write. Let him who incurs the liability dictate, but let him fear His Lord Allah, and not diminish aught of what he owes. If the party liable is mentally deficient, or weak, or unable Himself to dictate, Let his guardian dictate faithfully, and get two witnesses, out of your own men, and if there are not two men, then a man and two women, such as ye choose, for witnesses, so that if one of them errs, the other can remind her. The witnesses should not refuse when they are called on (For evidence). Disdain not to reduce to writing (your contract) for a future period, whether it be small or big: it is juster in the sight of Allah, More suitable as evidence, and more convenient to prevent doubts among yourselves…”

I MUHAMMAD SIDDEEQ PLEDGE TO REMOVE THE BLOG ENTRIES THAT I HAVE WRITTEN AND CIRCULATED IN THE PUBLIC DOMAIN VIA, LETTER, EMAIL, PERSONAL WEBSITE ETC. CONCERNING THE PERCEIVED INJUSTICE PUT UPON THE WIFE AND WIDOW OF THE LATE IMAM W. D. MOHAMMED, KHADIJAH SIDDEEQ, ONCE THE MOHAMMED FAMILY, AS DEFINED BY THIS DOCUMENT, SIGNS AND NOTARIZED THIS STATEMENT OR ANY MUTUALLY AGREED UPON AND ACCEPTED, EDITED STATEMENT, THAT MAINTAINS AND HOLDS ON TO THE PLEDGE TO ACCEPT THE HOLY QUR’AN AS OUR FINAL AND ONLY DECIDER AS TO HOW THE JUSTICE IN THIS AND ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO MUSLIM MEMBER IN THE ISLAMIC COMMUNITY OF THE LATE IMAM W D. MOHAMMED, WILL BE ACHIEVED.

FURTHER, I PLEDGE, ONCE THIS AGREEMENT HAS BEEN SIGNED AND NOTARIZED, TO SIT DOWN WITH THE MOHAMMED FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE PRESENCE OF OUR FELLOW MUSLIM BELIEVERS SERVING AS SHURAH, TO ACCEPT THE FINAL JUDGMENT RENDERED BY THIS RESPECTED AND MUTUALLY ACCEPTED ISLAMIC SHURAH OF ISLAMIC SCHOLARS WHO WOULD CONVENE A SHURAH AND RENDER AN ISLAMIC SOLUTION–AFTER HEARING ALL AND EVERY CONCERN FROM EACH AND EVERY FAMILY MEMBER–TO ALL OF OUR UNRESOLVED CONCERNS THAT HAVE BEEN HINDERING US FROM COMING TOGETHER.

I/WE PLEDGE TO RESPECT AND HONOR THE FINAL JUDGMENT AND DECISION OF THIS HONORABLE SHURAH WHETHER THEIR VERDICT IS ONE THAT I/WE WOULD PREFER OR NOT.

I UNDERSTAND BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT THAT I AS WELL AS EVERY AND ALL MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY HAVE PUT THEIR ENTIRE TRUST IN ALLAH AND THE LAW OF THE HOLY QUR’AN FOR THE FINAL AND ONLY RESOLUTION TO OUR FORMER DIFFERENCES. FURTHER I UNDERSTAND THAT BY ACCEPTING THIS AGREEMENT, WHEN THE TWO FAMILIES’ HAVE ACCEPTED THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, I HAVE ACCEPTED TO FOREGO ANY AND ALL ATTEMPTS (CURRENT, PENDING OR IN THE FUTURE)TO FILE, TAKE PART IN OR ACCEPT AS AN ALTERNATIVE OR SUPPLEMENTARY SOLUTION ANY DECISION OR LEGAL JUDGMENT FROM ANY COURTS IN THE CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, COOK COUNTY REGION OR ANY COURT IN ANY CITY, COUNTY OR STATE IN THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NOW AND FOREVER REGARDING THIS MATTER.

I, MUHAMMAD SIDDEEQ, AS THE HEAD OF MY FAMILY, AND WALLACE MOHAMMED II, AS THE HEAD OF HIS FAMILY, ARE RESPONSIBLE TO HAVE EVERY MEMBER OF OUR RESPECTIVE FAMILIES SIGN THIS DOCUMENT AND HAVE THIS STATEMENT NOTARIZED AND FILED IN THE COURT SYSTEM OF COOK COUNTY, WHERE IMAM W. D. MOHAMMED RESIDED, AND FILED IN THE CHARGE OF THE SHURAH BODY THAT CONVENES AND CONDUCTS THIS SHURAH ACTION. SAID AGREEMENT ONCE SIGNED WILL BE PUBLISHED IN EVERY AND ALL ISLAMIC MEDIA, NEWSPAPERS, AND MAGAZINES AVAILABLE TO AND WILLING TO ACCEPT AND PUBLISH SAID DOCUMENT.

IF BY ANY CHANCE, A PERSON OR PERSONS WHO LATER PRESENTS A LEGAL CLAIM IN OPPOSITION TO THE CLEAR DICTATES OF THIS AGREEMENT WHICH IS SUPPORTED BY THE REVEALED WORD OF ALLAH, FOUND IN THE TOTAL READING AND RENDERING OF THE HOLY QUR’AN, AS OFFERED BY THE MUTUALLY AGREED UPON AND ACCEPTED CONVENED SHURAH OF ISLAMIC SCHOLARS IN THIS MATTER, SAID CLAIM WILL BE SEEN AS ILLEGAL, UNACCEPTABLE AND IN DIRECT OPPOSITION TO THE AGREED UPON FORMULA FOR BRINGING ABOUT CLOSURE IN THIS MATTER, THUS RENDERING SAID PERSON IN VIOLATION OF SAID AGREEMENT AND SUBJECT TO SERIOUS REBUKE BY THE ENTIRE MUSLIM COMMUNITY AS WE ARE INSTRUCTED TO DO IN THE QUR’AN. ABSENT THE SIGNATURE OF ANY FAMILY MEMBER AS DEFINED IN SAID DOCUMENT THIS AGREEMENT IS NULL AND VOID.

I WILL ONLY MAKE THIS DOCUMENT PUBLIC AFTER I HAVE BEEN ASSURED THAT THE MOHAMMED FAMILY HAS HAD ADEQUATE TIME TO READ AND RESPOND PERSONALLY TO MYSELF OR A TRUSTED MUSLIM EMISSARY AS TO THEIR ACCEPTING OR REJECTING OF SAID DOCUMENT

I, ON BEHALF OF MY FAMILY, PLEDGE TO PUBLICLY GO ON THE RECORD OF ACCEPTING THIS AGREEMENT ONCE IT IS CLEAR THAT AMPLE TIME HAS BEEN ALLOTTED THE MOHAMMED FAMILY FOR HAVING ARRIVED AT A DECISION TO EITHER ACCEPT OR REJECT THIS OFFER

A SUGGESTED TIME FOR ALL FAMILY MEMBERS TO HAVE MADE ADJUSTMENTS AND TO HAVE DISCUSSED ALL PRELIMINARY CONCERNS IN PREPARATION FOR THE FINALIZING OF THIS DOCUMENT WILL BE TWO WEEKS FROM THE DATE OF THE PRESENTING OF THIS DOCUMENT (OCTOBER 30, 2008).

THE FINAL COMPLETED DOCUMENT, SIGNED AND NOTARIZED BY ALL FAMILY MEMBERS IS TO BE COMPLETED BY ALL FAMILY MEMBERS ON OR BY THE TIME, THE HAJJIS POUR DOWN FROM MOUNT ARAFAT (DECEMBER 7, 2008). FAILURE TO MEET THESE TIMELINES IN THIS MATTER RENDERS SAID AGREEMENT NULL AND VOID UNLESS A PUBLIC REQUEST IS MADE TO EXTEND THE MUTUALLY ACCEPTED DEADLINE.

AGAIN FOR THIS AGREEMENT TO BE VALID THE HEAD OF EACH FAMILY MUST HAVE EVERY MEMBER OF EACH FAMILY SIGN AND HAVE THEIR SIGNATURE NOTARIZED AND PREPARED TO HAVE IT FILED (WITHIN 30 DAYS OF ITS COMPLETION) JOINTLY (BOTH FAMILIES TOGETHER) IN THE COOK COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT IN THE VARIOUS AND SPECIFIC DEPARTMENTS AS IS NECESSARY SUCH AS DOMESTIC RELATIONS, PROBATE ETC..

IF FOR SOME REASON A FAMILY MEMBER IS UNCOMFORTABLE OR HAS SOME DISAGREEMENT WITH THE PROPOSED LANGUAGE OF SAID DOCUMENT THEY ARE FREE TO OFFER ANY SUGGESTION FOR A MORE ACCEPTABLE LANGUAGE BY JUST HAVING THE HEAD OF THEIR RESPECTIVE FAMILIES SIT DOWN WITH THE HEAD OF THE OTHER FAMILY DURING THE TWO WEEK PERIOD DESIGNATED FOR THIS PURPOSE TO MAKE THE REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS AS REQUESTED, AS LONG AS THE CENTRAL THEME AND FOCUS TO AND FOR SAID AGREEMENT IS NOT LOST OR OBSCURED BY AND IN SAID CHANGES.
