FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

WITH ALLAH’S NAME THE MERCIFUL BENEFACTOR THE MERCIFUL REDEEMER

“FIGHT THE SCHEMES OF SHAITAN/SATAN”

May 5, 2011

Today on our television, in our newspapers, on the radio, the internet and every other mode of communication and conversation is about a topic that seems to have captured the interest of the world as we know it. The catalyst of this strange and morbid celebration is centered around the death of an individual. This individual, according the reports that we read, is the one who was behind one of the most horrendous, blatant and vicious irresponsible acts of terrorism that this country has ever experienced on its shores. What troubles me in this time of strange and unwise carnival celebration is that the two major theaters most effected by this deed are the homes of two major religious communities whose spiritual insight or guidance has all but been drowned out by the clamoring and rancor of those they purport to lead the Christians and the Muslims. More ironic than this are the very popular and quite often referred to scriptures that, if taken out of the theoretic rhetorical context and placed in the arena of reality at such a critical time, could give some balance and dignity to a very difficult situation that the mob-type reaction we are witnessing rising from the naivety of the masses has spawned.

Is it possible that anything can happen today in our world as we know it that G-d, Allah, the Creator, did not see or know? If He knew or saw this, then shouldn’t there be some reference in the Bible and or the Qur’an referencing this type of situation? The scriptures teach us that evil has been around since the very beginning of time and will be here until the end of time. So why now is the tail wagging the dog? Why have the politicians taken center stage in leading us while periodically squeaking through the cracks we hear and see a teeny blurb from the so-called religious leaders of our world as to what is transpiring and how the masses should responsibly react?

Having been born a Christian and reared in a Christian Church before converting to Islam, I am well informed of those popular scriptures speaking to the day we are presently living in. Why aren’t we hearing these scriptures dominating the great discussion that is saturating our media? Why has the religious leadership taken a back seat at a time when they should be foremost and forthcoming in directing the wandering masses to find their way? The Qur’an admonishes the Muslims to stand up for right regardless of whom or what and to speak a word directed to the truth. While the Bible cautions its readers: Rejoice not because the rod of him that smote thee is broken, for out of the serpent’s rod will come a fiery flying serpent, meaning: Will come more and greater problems.

So is this a time for jubilant celebration? The wise would make answer, “emphatically no!” This is a time for cautious and prayerful deliberation. In none of the religious scriptures did The Creator limit evil to an individual. (Bible: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places )Evil was always left in a general term such as Satan, Shaitan, Iblis, Lucifer (and the list goes on and on)–never attempting to single out one individual as the personification of all that is wrong on the earth–but instead admonishing the reader not to eat from the forbidden tree nor take into ones thinking and reasoning a corrupt and contorted type of reasoning and thinking.

I personally believe that it is irresponsible for the leadership of our world to promote the idea that the killing of one individual or the curtailing of one organization has made our world a better place to live in. The mind, thinking, and values of the individual who was killed in Pakistan had a life before Christ, had a life before Mohammed, had a life during the crusades, had a life in Early Asia had a life in the Garden of Eden. This mind existed during the untold wars of this world, during the slave trade, and during the holocaust. It had a life in South Africa, in Rwanda, in Palestine, in Israel during the first and second war. This thinking was alive during Korea, during Vietnam, in Granada, in Panama and the list goes on and on. So if he/it could be killed in his bunker or hung in a gallows or shot by a firing squad or electrocuted, why isn’t he/it dead? Imam W. D. Mohammed said “…don’t fight Shaitan… fight his schemes. Fight his schemes dear people, fight his schemes. Fight the schemes of Shaitan. And what are the schemes of Shaitan? . . . Injustice, selfishness, greed, hatred, filth, abuse, crime, neglect, prejudice, wrongdoing… And the list goes on and on.

One day the civilized world will have to answer the question: was the killing and dismembering of literally hundreds of thousands of innocent people in pursuit of one individual–who may or may not have been the architect of many, many evil vicious crimes and deeds in our society today–worth it? Was it the way that G-d would have us govern a civilized society? And is the world safer and closer to peace as a result of it? Our nation, our country–the United States of America–that we all love and cherish, is a great and wonderful country. And we, its citizens, must stand in support of it during the best of times and the worst of times. Yet that support does not mean going to sleep and not asking the hard questions that were asked by our diverse founding fathers–who made possible the blessings we are basking in today–and will be asked by historians hundreds of years from today when we are dead and buried.

So yes “G-d Bless America.” But please don’t end the prayer there. We the Citizens of America are bigger than that and G-d’s Creation spans the length and breath of the Universe and beyond. Sincere G-d fearing people know that to achieve the goal that we all so desire for all mankind regardless of race, creed or class, color or religion, we must expand our heart and expand our prayer and beg Almighty G-d ALLAH TO BLESS ALL HUMANITY and our living will not be in vain.

Thank you
Brother Muhammad Siddeeq
