Why Give Wallace Mohammed II Power and Authority over You That He Does Not Have?

“And when everything will have been decided, Satan will say: ‘Allah has made you a true promise. I, too, made promises to you, but I did not keep them. Yet I had no power at all over you, except that I called you and you responded to me. Hence, do not now blame me, but blame yourselves. It is not for me to respond to your cries, nor for you to respond to mine. I have already disclaimed your associating me with Allah. Indeed, for all wrongdoers there is grievous suffering in store.” (Surah Ibraheem, 14:22)
It has come to my attention that in a number of cases across this country and this community that many Imams and Believers in association with the leadership of Imam W.D. Mohammed have sought to either use the name of Imam Mohammed or his intellectual properties (his name, picture, quotes, writings etc) and have either been denied the right to use it by Wallace II or the office of the Mosque Cares. According to the reports, one Masjid had been named after Imam Mohammed and Wallace had demanded that they remove that name until or unless he granted them permission.

Let it be known and I have stated this since the passing of our esteem Imam, that Wallace Mohammed II has no more authority or power to control the use of Imam Mohammed’s Intellectual property than the man in the moon and those of you who allow him to bully you into thinking that you must clear all matters concerning the proper use of Imam Mohammed’s Intellectual property has to be cleared with him (Wallace II) have put yourself in a subordinate position to Wallace that he does not have. In fact, for the record, Wallace himself is in defiance of the law as he sells Imam Mohammed’s tapes and writings while the probate court of Cook County Illinois is attempting to sort out this issue and will in the future have to pay for his defiance and falsification of legal authority that he nor The Mosque Cares has at this point in time.

For the record I have enclosed a copy of a letter written to Wallace by the lawyer representing the estate of Imam W. D. Mohammed which is public information and can be found in the probate file for the estate of Imam W. D. Mohammed in the Cook County Probate court division.:

RE: Intellectual Property of Imam Muhammad

Dear Br. Wallace,

Assalam alaykum. Inshallah you are well.

My name is Zubair M. Tajuddin and I am the attorney representing the Estate of Wallace Muhammad, 2008 P6274. As you know, among Imam Muhammad's assets were various publications, productions and writings. It has come to the attention of the estate that you, through WDM Publications and WDM Ministries, have control of some of these items which may be the property of the Estate of Wallace Muhammed and whose beneficiaries are the Imam’s heirs. It is unclear whether, prior to his death, there was a licensing understanding between the Imam and the specific entity regarding the publication and distribution of the intellectual property.

The Estate is therefore asking you to immediately suspend all publication and distribution of these properties until all ownership and licensing issues can be sorted out all material that may be have been intellectual property of the Imam, including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. All lectures in audio or video format
  2. The Islamic Flag Design
  3. Ramadan Session Books
  4. Quran Commentary

Further, the Estate asks that you submit a complete accounting of all items published and distributed by you from September 9, 2008 to present, including the following

PO Box 481 Lombard, IL 60148 PH:

  • The number of items published and distributed
  • The means by which they were published and distributed
  • The costs of publication and distribution
  • The profit received by you or your organization
  • Where that profit was deposited and/or invested.
  • Any other property that was owned by the Imam that is in your possession

The Estate is willing to create a licensing agreement for the publication and distribution of these properties. However, please suspend all publication and distribution until such licensing agreement is worked out.

Please send me the total accounting requested above within fourteen (14) days. I have sent this letter twice before, but I have not heard back, and I am unsure as to whether you even received the previous letters. The Estate of the Imam is prepared to pursue legal means to discover this information, but I prefer to ask for it amicably.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Zubair M. Tajuddin
